Dancer Eoin has world at his feet

Bray People - - KILMACANOGUE DIARY -

WELL DONE to young 12-year-old Eoin O’Toole Carrick, a 6th class student at Kilmacanogue N.S. who competed at the 2014 An Comhdhail World Irish Dancing Championships in Killarney last Thursday April 17th. Eoin, who recently retained his Dublin Champion title for the 3rd consecutive year, was competing in the Boys U-13 Championship.

He faced stiff competition from 23 of the world’s best dancers and placed 3rd in the overall championship retaining the same spot he placed 12 month prior. This is such a great achievement for Eoin, who broke his foot back in late November and only returned from injury weeks before these championships, showing great strength and determination.

Eoin dances for the Dawson McDonnell School of Irish Dance in South Dublin.

All his family are said to be very proud of Eoin’s achievement and also a special mention should be made of Eoin’s younger sister Kim (age 9), who danced at her first World Championships in the under 10 team dancing and did very well.
