Conary and FC Laragh to battle for Scott Cup

Bray People - - SPORT -

PROMOTION rivals Conary United and FC Laragh will push their league dreams aside for a day as they bid to become the Thomas Scott Division 3 South Cup champions.

Both sides faced what on paper would seem relatively straightforward semi-finals but over the course of 90 minutes, anything is possible.

Conary United had bottom side Arklow Celtic B to deal with and were left extreme- ly frustrated by the flying heroics of the Celtic ‘keeper.

Stephen Roche had given them an early lead but they had to wait until 20 minutes from time for Graham Power to add the security of a second which helped them into the final.

FC Laragh’s fairy tale first season continued as they powered into the decider. Gerard Earls found the net for hosts Arklow United B but Laragh breezed through this test thanks to strikes from Steve Olohan (2), Paddy Costello and Paddy Byrne.
