Woman admits theft of groceries
A WOMAN whose partner was tragically shot dead some years ago appeared in Bray District Court last Thursday on a charge of stealing garlic mayonnaise and portions of southern fried chicken.
Mary Kinlan ( 41) admitted the theft of the items worth a total of €6 from Tesco Express in Bray on February 26.
She put some items in a basket and others in her handbag. She was identified by shop staff as well as CCTV, and she approached gardai on the street in relation to the theft.
‘Miss Kinlan has longstanding issues around alcohol,’ said solicitor Conway O’Hara. ‘ She has three teenage children and has joint custody with her ex-partner. Another partner was tragically killed some years ago and that has had an impact on her life.’
Mr. O’Hara added that she apologised at the time. She has a very similar matter due before Bray District Court on May 12 and Judge David Kennedy has ordered the preparation of a probation report.
