Road mark­ings sought for Sea Road in Kil­coole

CLLR Tom For­tune asked that a white line road mark­ing be in­stalled on Sea Road in Kil­coole to de­fine the road bet­ter for traf­fic.

He also asked for bet­ter def­i­ni­tion to high­light where the road nar­rows at the end of Holy­well es­tate and across from the creche.

En­gi­neer Ruairi O’Han­lon said that the road will be worked on.

Cllr For­tune also asked that a yel­low box be in­stalled at the top of Sea Road to fa­cil­i­tate traf­fic en­ter­ing and ex­it­ing a car park.

He re­quested that a fil­ter light be in­stalled to fa­cil­i­tate traf­fic en­ter­ing the newly in­stalled junc­tion com­ing from New­cas­tle di­rec­tion and turn­ing right down the Sea Road.

Cllr For­tune wel­comed the in­stal­la­tion of the junc­tion there.

Cllr For­tune had cam­paigned for the junc­tion for a num­ber of years.
