Man ac­cused of smash­ing mir­ror

Jimmy O’Brien of 31 Burn­aby Lawns, Grey­stones is due to ap­pear back at Bray Dis­trict Court in Jan­uary where he faces a num­ber of charges, in­clud­ing crim­i­nal dam­age and a num­ber of roads traf­fic in­ci­dents.

He is charged with driv­ing with­out a li­cense, driv­ing while ex­ceed­ing the al­co­hol limit, dan­ger­ous driv­ing and driv­ing while dis­qual­i­fied at Bal­ly­henry, Ash­ford, on July 21 2013.

He also faces a charge of crim­i­nal dam­age and be­ing in­tox­i­cated in pub­lic at Strand Road, Bray, on Septem­ber 14 2013. On the night in ques­tion gar­daí re­ceived a ra­dio call from a lo­cal res­i­dent who had wit­nessed a passer-by smash one of his side view mir­rors, caus­ing €233.86 worth of dam­age.

Judge Wil­liam Early was also in­formed that O’Brien faced a sec­tion 2 as­sault charge and a sec­tion 4 theft charge as well from other in­ci­dents.

The de­fen­dant was granted le­gal aid and or­dered to ap­pear back be­fore Bray Dis­trict Court on Jan­uary 19.
