AUGHRIM CHRISTMAS MARKET Aughrim Pavillion 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The regular country market takes on a Christmas theme, with Christmas cakes and puddings, free range turkeys and magical fairy doors all on sale.
CHRISTMAS FARM MARKET Killruddery House and Gardens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your mouth will water when you see the wide range of artisan food products, homemade produce and locally-grown vegetables on offer in the Grain Store and newly restored Horseyard, while the carols and music will make sure you’re in a fully festive mood as you browsefor that perfect Christmas gift. SANTA VISITS Glenroe Farm 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come visit Santa by the fireside in the thatched cottage at Glenroe Farm, where he will be joined by Mrs Claus, the Snow Queen and his loyal elves. Next door will be the Nativity Stable featuring Saoirse the donkey, Leah the cow and Noddy the sheep, while there are plenty more animals to see in the Pets’ Corner. Admission for children: €15 (includes farm visit, Santa visit and gift from Santa) and entry for one adult (additional adults cost €5 each).
CHRISTMAS STABLES Powerscourt Garden Pavilion Stables 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to pay a visit the stables, which is free of charge.
LAKESHORE WONDERLAND Avon Ri, Blessington 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for children (one adult goes free, additional adults pay €5) is €18 and includes a visit to Santa, a gift and hot chocolate. THE FOREST TRAIN AND CHRISTMAS MARKET Avondale House and Forest Park 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets, which must be booked online at www.theforesttrain.ie cost €15 for children, €10 for adults and €5 for babies (0-12 months).

Mrs Claus will be telling stories and Santa’s helpers will be busy in the workshop. The experience will last approx. 40 minutes and starts on the hour. SANTA DASH Arklow Town Centre 2 p.m. The fourth annual Arklow Santa Dash starts from St Saviour’s Church and finishes up at the park and Bandstand on Main Street where a Christmas market will be in full swing. There is no charge to take part in the dash which can be run or walked.
MRS CLAUS IN TINAHELY Tinahely Farm Shop 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Mrs Claus returns to the Farm Shop where this year she will be in her kitchen baking bread for Santa and telling the children stories and tales about the great man himself Santa Claus. FAYRE AND SANTA CABIN Donoughmore 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Take the trip to the Glen of Imaal to enjoy a fun-filled festive afternoon in Santa’s company. Crafts, cakes, toys and books are just some of the items that will be on sale, while there will also be outdoor fun and games, a silent auction and a raffle. Admission to the fayre is free while Santa visits cost €5.
JINGLE CELLS Wicklow’s Historic Gaol 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. See the softer side of this historic gaol by bringing the children along to visit Santa, meet his helpers and view the spectacular festive lighting. As it’s Saturday, visitors can also take pony and trap sleigh rides around the town. Tickets to see Santa – €12 per child; Santa visit with pony and trap sleigh ride - €15 per child (adults pay €5 for the sleigh ride).
A CHRISTMAS CINDERELLA Mermaid Arts Centre 2 p.m. Tickets: €15 (concession €12) or €45 for a family. WICKLOW MALE VOICE CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT Grand Hotel 8 p.m. A great night’s entertainment is promised featuring a mix of old favourites and new tunes. The star guest will be violinist Alan Smale, while choir director Bernard Geary and his daughter Amanda will be giving a very special performance. Tickets cost €15, with €5 from each ticket donated to the local St Vincent de Paul.
HANDEL’S MESSIAH Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Bray 8 p.m. The Bray Choral Society presents the Christmas classic Handel’s Messiah. A number of accomplished soloists will join the choir and the organist on the night will be David Leighfrom St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. Tickets are available at the door €15 (€12 concession).
