LAKESHORE WONDERLAND Avon Ri, Blessington 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission for children (one adult goes free, additional adults pay €5) is €18 and includes a visit to Santa, a gift and hot chocolate and full access to Santa’s Lakeshore Wonderland.

CHRISTMAS ISLAND Hidden Valley Holiday Park 11 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

POLAR EXPRESS Mermaid Arts Centre 2.30 p.m. Take a magical journey to the North Pole at this festive family moving screening. The Polar Express tells the story of Billy, a boy who isn’t sure if Santa Claus, the North Pole or the elves really exist. However, this all changes on Christmas Eve! Tickets: €5.

SCROOGED Mermaid Arts Centre 8 p.m. Enjoy some seasonal nostalgia at this screening of the 1980s classic starring Bill Murray. In this adaptation of A Christmas Carol, Frank Cross ( Murray) is a nasty television executive who has sacrificed family and his personal life for success.
