‘GodRUs’ news­let­ter is pub­lished by stu­dents

THE Bray Head Cross, The Bridge Cafe and the suc­cess of Hozier are among the sto­ries cov­ered by Tran­si­tion Year Stu­dents in the Christ­mas is­sue of ‘GodRUs’ news­let­ter which was launched last Fri­day at The Bridge Café in Bray.

Stu­dents from Loreto, Pre­sen­ta­tion, St. Kil­lians and Coláiste Raithín re­searched news and fea­tures for the news­let­ter which is pub­lished by the Knights of St. Colum­banus. It is dis­trib­uted to sec­ond level schools, youth clubs and parishes in the area.

They have now com­pleted the first phase of a pub­lish­ing pro­gramme un­der the guid­ance of jour­nal­ist Frank Corr. Phase Two be­gins early in 2015 and will cul­mi­nate in the pub­li­ca­tion of a spe­cial edi­tion of ‘GodRUs’ to mark the 400th an­niver­sary of the death of St Colum­banus. Cotrib­u­tors in­cluded Ali­cia Kestell and Ni­amh Nic Siomóin from Coláiste Raithín, Ross Small and Ryan Jef­fares from Pres, Yas­min Keogh and Bar­bara Kupin­ski from St. Kil­ian’s and Emily Lan­nin and Chloe O’Brien from Loreto.
