Brady eviction case will go to New Year
CATHAOIRLEACH of Bray Municipal District Cllr John Brady expected to get a hearing date for his eviction case last week. However the matter was further adjourned at the High Court. Cllr Brady, his wife Gayle and their five children were given notice to quit their home last May. The notice was tendered by the now defunct Bray Town Council. The matter continues with Wicklow County Council as the owners of the property in question.
The eviction notice issued by the local authority and subsequent High Court action taken by the Bradys relate to works to the attic of their home at Kilbride Grove.
The property at Kilbride Grove is a council house which the authorities say has been subject to unauthorised works to the attic 10 years ago. The family has refused to leave the house. The matter before the High Court was in for mention on Friday. Cllr Brady and his wife did not have to be present in court. The case has been further adjourned to January 12. Cllr Brady said that he was informed that certain paperwork was not ready to set a hearing date for the matter to proceed.
The next date in January is for mention once again.
