A new programme of conversational English classes for migrants has started in St Fergal’s Junior School as part of the wider Bray Fáilte Isteach community project run by Bray Area Partnership.
This new programme expands the project to a second venue – the original programme has been running since 2009 with in central Bray – and brings the numbers currently taking part to more than 85 learners and 20 volunteer tutors.
The idea behind Fáilte Isteach is that people from the local community volunteer their time to teach practical conversational English to people from other countries who live and work in Bray. Classes are free and take place in an informal, friendly café style setting through small group conversations over a cup of tea.
