Declan O’Rourke is coming to Mermaid

Declan O’Rourke will perform at Mermaid Arts Centre on Thursday January 8 2015 at 8 p.m. Declan was a latecomer to the Dublin singer-songwriter scene. But in his mid-twenties, within months of discovering Dublin’s bustling songwriter open-mic circuit, O’Rourke found himself in the mix with the likes of Paddy Casey, Gemma Hayes, Damien Rice and many other Irish artists.

Over a decade on from the hugely successful release of his debut album Since Kyabram, O’Rourke returns to Mermaid.

Hear him perform hits like Galileo, which Paul Weller singled out as the only song from the past 20 years that he wished he had written.

There will be a wealth of material to draw from as O’Rourke brings the audience at the intimate venue on a wonderful journey through his catalogue.

Last time the songwriter was in Bray his friend Paddy Casey hopped on to the stage for a song or two. For tickets or more information call (01) 2724030 or go to www.mermaidartscen
