WICKLOW could be looking at a round of Senior football championship games in April next year according to the Chairman of the C.C.C. Mick Hagan.

Speaking at last Saturday evening’s Convention in Aughrim the St. Pat’s club man said that following a meeting with the current county management and depending on Division 4 league circumstances the possibility of an early round of Senior football championship games is a possibility.

“We’ve met with the county management,” said Hagan, “and if we don’t finish in the Division 4 play-off and we finnish on April 5 at home to London and team management are suggesting that if they are finished on the 5th the players will be released back to the clubs and maybe we should be looking at playing a round of the championship towards the end of April. I’m only just saying it. That’s the result of a meeting with the football team management. We’ve yet to sit down with the hurling people,” he said.
