ST. ANNE’S PARISH
St. Anne’s Resource Centre Hours: St. Anne’s Resource Centre is open 9am to 8.30pm Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 9am to 3pm. Those requiring Baptism / Confirmation certificates or application forms for Baptism can obtain them during the above hours. Please note that the Parish Office is the only place where certificates and application forms can be processed.
St. Anne’s Parish Office Hours: The Parish Office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and Friday from 9am to 3pm.
St. Anne’s Resource Centre Christmas Opening Times: Closing on Christmas Eve at 1pm; Closed Christmas Day and St. Stephen’s Day. The office will be open again Monday December 29th to Wednesday December 31st from 9am to 1pm; Closed New Year’s Day. Normal opening hours will resume from Friday January 2nd 2015.
Mass Times: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne’s Church at 10am and 7.30pm Monday to Friday, (except during July & August). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8am, (9am in St. Patrick’s Church in St. Columcille’s Hospital), 10.30am (Family Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10am Mass, between 12.30pm and 1pm and after the 6.30pm Mass. Mass is now broadcast on-line and can be viewed by logging onto the parish website:www.stannesparishshankill.com and then clicking onto video link.
Baptism Times: Baptisms take place in St. Anne’s Church at 1pm on the 1st Sunday of the Month and at 5pm on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the Month. A month’s notice is required. Please contact the St. Anne’s Parish Office located in St. Anne’s Resource Centre to make your arrangements. Please note that when visiting the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, the child’s birth certificate should be brought as it necessary to photocopy it for the parish records but it will be returned immediately.
Bethany Bereavement Group: The Bethany Bereavement Group is a voluntary parish-based ministry who are trained to listen and to help the bereaved and grieving. The Group holds a Drop-in Centre on the First Friday of the Month at 10am in St, Anne’s Resource Centre, and can be contacted via St. Anne’s Resource Centre by calling 01-282 2704.
Coffee Morning: There is a special get together every Thursday after 10am. You are welcome to join our community in St. Anne’s Resource Centre for a cuppa and chat.
Christmas Cards: Christmas Cards featuring a picture of St. Anne’s Church are now on sale in St. Anne’s Resource Centre. 8 cards for €5.
Making Seasons Bright: On Sunday night a Concert featuring the Habemus Chamber Choir performing Christmas, Choral and Contemporary favorites will take place in the Church at 8pm. Tickets €10 per person / €20 per family. Complimentary mulled wine/tea/ coffee and mince pies in St.Anne’s Resource Centre afterwards. Proceeds in aid of the Parish.
Hospitality: Our monthly Hospitality Sunday has proven to be very successful and we are hoping to facilitate this get together more often. To do this we need a second team of people - if you are interested in joining this team, please contact Ms. Elaine Hogan in the Parish Office.

Christmas Crib Appeal - Bray Refuge Centre: For many years we, as a Parish have generously assisted the Bray Women’s Refuge Centre Appeal. Over this coming weekend were are again inviting Parishioners, in particular children, to bring a gift to lay at the Crib at all Masses. Items such as baby food, nappies, tooth brushes, babygrows, pajamas, socks, underwear ete, - any size would be ideal. Kindly note that all items must be new. Please don’t bring toys because of storage difficulties. Bray Women’s Refuge aims to support and assist women & children recovering from the trauma of violence and abuse. The January First Saturday Book Sale, which supports the Shankill Old Folks Association and Meals on Wheels, will take place from 10am to 1pm on Saturday January 3rd in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre, Lower Road, Shankill. Donations of books, other than school/text books, appreciated and accept on the day. Make a point of calling as you never know what you might find.
Opening hours for Shankill Library are 10am to 1pm and from to 5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and on alternate Fridays and Saturdays. The library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 8pm. Members of the Rathmichael Historical Society, Shankill’s own local history society, are invited to attend Friday’s 11.30am free talk in Bray Library at which James Scannell will recall ‘ Christmas 1914 in Bray, Co.. Wicklow ‘. All welcome to attend . The next meeting of the Rathmichael Historical Society will take place on Wednesday January 7th 2015 at 8pm in Rathmichael School when the AGM of the Society will take place. New members are welcome.
