Melitine’s great Lidl supermarket sweep
MELITINE Murray was the lucky winner of a trolley dash at Lidl which took place in the Greystones store recently.
Melitine works at the Tiglin addiction centre and lives in Greystones.
When she found out she was the winner of her shop, she laughed at the thought of running around the supermarket!
In County Wicklow alone, €3,991 was raised for Barretstown for through the sale of raffle tickets.
‘It came at a very good time!’ she said about the big win just before Christmas.
Melitine shared some of the trolley full of goodies with her friend and kept some for herself.
She just had a total of three short minutes to get the job done.
While it might be a bit overwhelming to have to make your decisions in a rush while speeding around Lidl, a manager helped Melitine fill her trolley at the local supermarket.
Sinead Flynn, CSR assistant with Lidl Ireland said that the company will be ramping up their activities in 2015 to raise even more much needed funds for Barretstown.
‘ These funds will go a long way to reducing our waiting lists and increasing our capacity to take part in more hospital outreach visits,’ said Dee Ahearn, CEO of Barretstown.
