Joe’s mo raised €615 for Pieta House charity
A Bray man has raised more than €600 for Pieta House simply by cultivating a mustache.
Joe Carroll is the junior school caretaker at St Fergal’s school in Bray.
He decided to do ‘Movember’ for the suicide charity.
‘ Thank you to everyone who supported me,’ said Joe after having had a shave.
He explained that Pieta House helps prevent suicide and self harm.
‘ The demand for help is gone very high for people with distressing issues, especially at Christmas,’ he said.
‘Pieta House funding is from public donations and hopefully this money will go to help someone who needs support or has difficulty dealing with day to day life.’
He said that the figures for people ending their own lives are frightening.
‘Sometimes we are not aware until it is too late.’
