Ad­vice for stu­dents on third level ap­pli­ca­tions

BRAY’S YouthSpin group re­minds sixth year pupils that after the Christ­mas hol­i­days they will be pre­par­ing to com­plete their CAO forms for col­lege.

There will be a num­ber of open days com­ing up and YouthSpin of­fers a ser­vice to young peo­ple and their fam­i­lies that can help with the ap­pli­ca­tion process or more gen­eral ca­reers or ed­u­ca­tional in­for­ma­tion .

Jan­uary will be an im­por­tant month for those stu­dents with a cou­ple of CAO mile­stones ap­proach­ing as well as op­por­tu­ni­ties to visit a num­ber of the fur­ther or higher ed­u­ca­tion in­sti­tu­tions they might be con­sid­er­ing ap­ply­ing for.

Jan­uary 20 is the clos­ing date for any­one wish­ing to ap­ply early to CAO through their on­line process, which car­ried a re­duced fee of €25.

Fe­bru­ary 1 is the tra­di­tional fi­nal date for nor­mal ap­pli­ca­tions with a fee of €40. Go to youthspin.word­ for a list of open days com­ing up in the area. Youth in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer Paul Murphy will be at the Bray of­fice on Her­bert Road on Tues­days, Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or other times by ap­point­ment.
