Thrift shop volunteers to take a well-earned break
KILCOOLE Thrift Shop has closed for the Christmas holidays and will reopen in the new year.
‘All our amazing volunteers are taking a well earned break to spend with family and friends,’ said a spokeswoman.
‘ They truly deserve it, so all our best wishes to everyone and hoping your Christmas holiday is a happy and festive one.’
The shop was established in 2010 and since that time the team has raised more than €45,000 to donated to a range of charities.
The entire team of volunteers comprises of 28 people who work very hard and give their time free of charge for the benefit of the community.
A group of women launched the shop when the identified a need and interest for a thrift shop in the village.
Just before the Christmas break they gave a way a hamper to local woman Susan Keddy.
The hamper was donated by a member of the public and very gratefully received.
