Thrift shop vol­un­teers to take a well-earned break

KIL­COOLE Thrift Shop has closed for the Christ­mas hol­i­days and will re­open in the new year.

‘All our amaz­ing vol­un­teers are tak­ing a well earned break to spend with fam­ily and friends,’ said a spokes­woman.

‘ They truly de­serve it, so all our best wishes to ev­ery­one and hop­ing your Christ­mas hol­i­day is a happy and fes­tive one.’

The shop was es­tab­lished in 2010 and since that time the team has raised more than €45,000 to do­nated to a range of char­i­ties.

The en­tire team of vol­un­teers com­prises of 28 peo­ple who work very hard and give their time free of charge for the ben­e­fit of the com­mu­nity.

A group of women launched the shop when the iden­ti­fied a need and in­ter­est for a thrift shop in the vil­lage.

Just be­fore the Christ­mas break they gave a way a ham­per to lo­cal woman Susan Keddy.

The ham­per was do­nated by a mem­ber of the pub­lic and very grate­fully re­ceived.
