It’s going to be Niamh’s first Christmas with Michael, but instead of planning a romantic extravaganza, there’s a part of her that wishes she was spending it with the kids, especially after she hears how excited Ruth is about the big day. Luckily, her festive wish is (partially) granted by Rachel, who invites her over for Christmas morning, and Michael raises no objections, promising they’ll make the most of their Christmas Eve together instead. However, Niamh doesn’t count on the fact that Paul will also be spending December 24th in someone else’s company, as a shaken Nicola turns up on his doorstep, claiming that someone stole all her belongings at the airport and she had nowhere else to go. Niamh is shocked when she arrives at chez Brennan to find another woman has taken over the kitchen, but even the revelation that Nicola wasn’t been entirely honest about how she ended up there isn’t enough to dislodge her. Elsewhere, Mondo leaves it until Christmas Eve to get Juliet a present, and only manages to buy her a knock-off camera. Deegan steps in to save the day, but the youngster still faces a disappointment as her dad makes plans to leave for Las Vegas. Cass realises that Charlie has been lying about his Christmas plans and intends to spend the day alone, but he can’t do anything to change his friend’s mind. However, a present from Margie and an encounter with Zoe may get him into the festive spirit. Pete attempts to juggle two families – and two full turkey dinners – while Damien sympathises with Caoimhe as she faces the prospect of not seeing her loved ones. There’s shocking news about Neil, while Dolores feels unable to deliver her own bombshell, and Kerri-Ann and Decco spend a surprisingly happy day in A&E.
