Woman res­cued after get­ting lost on Bray Head

A YOUNG lAdy who lost her wAy wAs res­Cued from the BrAy HeAd AreA As night fell lAst Sun­dAy.

The 22-yeAr-old KoreAn lAdy got into dif­fi­Culty when she left the mAin route over BrAy HeAd And Be­CAme dis­ori­ented.

She hAd Been wAlk­ing Along the CoAstAl AreA Be­tween BrAy And Grey­stones. She found her­self sur­rounded By dense gorse And wAs not ABle to re­lo­CAte her­self. This wAs when she CAlled for As­sis­tAnCe.

The GArdA Con­trol Cen­tre rAised the AlArm with their Col­leAgues At BrAy GArdA StA­tion. This All oC­Curred Be­tween 4 p.m. And 5 p.m. on Sun­dAy As it wAs get­ting dArk.

The womAn Con­tACted the gArdAi And ex­plAined thAt she did not know where she wAs And needed As­sis­tAnCe.

The gArdAi looked for the help of the DuBlin-WiCk­low Moun­tAin Res­Cue TeAm And the Glen of ImAAl Red Cross Moun­tAin TeAm.

Con­tACt wAs mAin­tAined with the lAdy viA her mo­Bile phone And the Air support unit wAs Brought in. She wAs Asked to turn on A torCh she hAd to in­di­CAte her lo­CA­tion.

The GArdA Air Support he­li­Copter As­sisted in the seArCh And soon lo­CAted the miss­ing womAn in A lo­CA­tion south of BrAy HeAd.

They used the ‘night sun’ light And the he­li­Copter Crew kept the light on her lo­CA­tion. Moun­tAin Res­Cue per­son­nel then wAlked in to where she wAs And es­Corted her to sAfety. The womAn suf­fered no in­juries dur­ing her or­deAl. A spokesmAn for the DuBlin WiCk­low Moun­tAin Res­Cue TeAm Con­firmed thAt the young womAn is from KoreA. He sAid thAt he Be­lieves she might hAve Been vis­it­ing WiCk­low rAther thAn res­i­dent here.
