Young people sleeping out to help homeless
A group of young people put themselves through hardship in Greystones to help the homeless.
The youth branch of St Vincent de Paul did a sleep out in the town on the Sunday before Christmas for a full 24 hours.
They stayed outside ‘Vincent’s’ in Greystones from 3 p.m. on Sunday until the same time on Monday collecting money for the homeless.
People gave extremely generously, with much paper money going into the buckets along with whatever change people could afford.
For ever €1 donated, 90c is spent directly supporting individuals and families in need and 10c is spent on generating funds and administration.
Young SVP provides opportunities to engage in social action in local communities and encourages personal and social development.
