Bridesmaid blues led to loss of over 3 stone

MICHELLE, a montessori teacher from Newcastle, knew something had to change when it was a struggle to find a bridesmaid’s dress for her sister’s wedding.

‘ The shop assistant stood there and told me that they did not stock my size,’ the 25-year old said. ‘It was supposed to be a fun day out shopping with my sisters and instead, I left humiliated. After three days of trawling the shops, I ended up wearing a size 18-20 dress.’

After hearing about Slimming World, Michelle decided to give it a try. She was not expecting much, having tried a number of fad diets before, all of which yielded only shortterm success.

In her first three weeks of attending the group however, Michelle lost tenand-half pounds and went on to lose a total of 3 and a half stone!

‘Walking in was the hardest but I could not believe the warm welcome I received,’ she said. ‘It was really inspiring that everyone was there for the same reason I was and I felt completely at ease straight away.’

There was no food shortage in this plan, Michelle found. All her old favourites were still on the menu, like taco fries, chicken curry and chips. It was definitely a case of eat yourself slim!

Now Michelle is excited to be opening her own Slimming World group in Newcastle, on January 6th, in the Parish Hall, Church Lane, Newcastle.
