The late Eileen Jones
Kilmacanogue lost another of its favourite ladies on Christmas Eve when Eileen Jones sadly passed away.
Eileen (née Kieran), who lived in Kilough where she had moved from Nenagh, slipped away peacefully at her home following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Alan and a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed by her daughters Helen, Martina and Alwyn, sons Michael and Kieran, sisters Gay and Nora and all the family circle and friends.
Of course we all knew her as a bubbly character that enjoyed a good laugh and she was a larger than life character despite her small size. She was the Church Sacristan for many years and seemed to know everyone.
Her Requiem Mass took place on Saturday morning (December 27) at midday in St. Mochonog’s Church and she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery afterwards. Farewell Eileen, we will all miss your jolly presence and treasure fond memories. Rest in peace.
