GAA CLUB AGM

Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel is the venue for the AGM of En­niskerry GAA on Fri­day 9th Jan­uary at 8pm. All cur­rent mem­bers, play­ers, sup­port­ers are ex­pected to at­tend and new mem­bers and play­ers will be wel­come too.

DARTS COM­PE­TI­TIONS

The Dart mem­bers from both Vil­lage teams will be tak­ing part in the Sin­gles and Dou­bles Com­pe­ti­tions of the Boro League over the next few weeks be­fore re­sum­ing the League games.

HIS­TORY SO­CI­ETY

John Cal­lan, Pres­i­dent of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety, ex­tends a very Happy New Year to mem­bers of the So­ci­ety and their fam­i­lies, sup­port­ers and their friends, the lo­cal parishes, lo­cal his­tory so­ci­eties in the area, and the man­age­ment and staff of the Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel, En­niskerry, where monthly meet­ings of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety take place.

The Jan­uary 2015 pro­gramme of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety opens on Thurs­day Jan­uary 8th at 8.30pm in the Pow­er­court Arms Ho­tel at which au­thor and his­to­rian Liam Clare from Foxrock will present his lec­ture ‘ Lough­lin­stown Work­house dur­ing the Famine Years ‘ which will look at how this in­sti­tu­tion coped dur­ing the Famine years at a time when there was no pro­vi­sion within the Poor Law sys­tem to deal with a ma­jor calamity such as a famine. En­niskerry was one of the Di­vi­sions of the Rath­down Poor Law Union. All wel­come to at­tend–ad­mis­sion €3. Copies of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety 2015 pro­gramme will be avail­able in this meet­ing. SE­NIOR CIT­I­ZENS PARTY

The Se­nior Cit­i­zens An­nual Christ­mas Party takes place in the Parochial Hall, Satur­day 10th Jan­uary at 3pm. All En­niskerry Res­i­dents are in­vited.
