Rathmichael Parish Calendar: The Rathmichael Parish Calendar celebrating 150 years of parish life and worship is now available at the modest cost of €10 and will be on sale after church coffee mornings or from 087-2229633.
The Alpha /In-Between Book Club: The two books for review and discussion at the January meeting will be ‘ The Zookeeper’s Wife ‘ by Dianna Ackerman, and ‘ Norah Webster ‘ by Colm Tobin.
Mass Times: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne’s Church at 10am and 7.30pm Monday to Friday, (except during July & August). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8am, (9am in St. Patrick’s Church in St. Columcille’s Hospital), 10.30am (Family Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm.
New Year’s Day Masses: 10am. No Evening Mass.
First Friday Visits: Friday is the First Friday of the Month and any housebound parishioner wishing to receive a visit from one of the priests of the parish is asked to leave their contact details with the Parish Office.
The Feast of the Epiphany: Next Tuesday is the Feast of the Epiphany and a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are 7.30pm Monday (Vigil) and on Tuesday at 10am, 12 Noon, and 7.30pm.
First Friday Blessed Sacrament Adoration: There will be no Blessed Sacrament Adoration this Friday (January 2nd) but will resume again on Friday February 6th.

Men’s Coffee Morning: Due to the success of the Men’s Coffee Morning, this social get together will continue every Friday from 10.30am to 11.30pm in St. Resource Centre.
On Saturday morning the January First Saturday Book Sale, which supports the Shankill Old Folks Association and Meals on Wheels, will take place from 10am to 1pm in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre, Lower Road, Shankill. This is the ideal event to donate any surplus books one may have or pick up some new reading material. Donations of books, other than school/text books, appreciated and accept on the day. Make a point of calling in as you never know what you might find. Always a great selection of reading material at bargain prices.
The Library will be closed today–New Year’s Eve and tomorrow New Year’s Day, re-opening on Friday.

The next meeting of the Rathmichael Historical Society, Shankill’s own local history society, will take place on Wednesday January 7th 2015 at 8pm in Rathmichael School, Stonebridge Road, Shankill, when the AGM of the Society will take place.
The reports of the outgoing committee which be placed before members for discussion and adoption and a committee for 2015 elected. All members of the Society are requested to attend.
The AGM will be followed by a short talk by John Lennon on ‘ Homestead House, Dundrum ‘. This wishing to join the Rathmichael Historical Society can do at this meeting.
