Michael O’Brien, a young man from the Rocky Valley and who was in the 2014/15 in sixth class of Kilmacanogue NS last year was recently diagnosed with an illness. His friends Roisin Heywood and Rachel Griffen got in touch with all the class from last year to see if anyone would be interested in supporting Michael by doing a 5k walk and it got a great response. The walk took place from the Parish Hall in Kilmacanogue on Bank Holiday Monday (2nd) at midday and went round the Rocky Valley area. Almost the entire class took on the challenge and Michael’s parents suggested giving the funds made to Crumlin’s Children Hospital where Michael is having his treatment. €2,250 was raised so far with more to come in and will be presented to Crumlin Hospital in the near future so well done everyone, another example of real community spirit in our little village. Finally, best wishes to you Michael, you are a great and very popular young man and in our thoughts and prayers.
