Start looking for your Stilet­tos and Stet­sons and save the date as St Mary’s and St Ger­ard’s Na­tional School, En­niskerry, are hold­ing a Barn Dance on Fri­day, May 27, at 8 p.m. in the Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel to raise funds for their school. This event was a lot of fun last year so don’t miss out. Tick­ets can be pur­chased di­rectly from the school or at the Pow­er­scourt Arms and Coun­try House Ho­tel. Tick­ets are now on sale.

The an­nual walk in aid of St Col­man’s Pa­tients Ben­e­fit Fund will be held on Whit Sun­day (June 5) in the hos­pi­tal grounds in Rath­drum, Co. Wick­low.


Visit to Our Lady’s Is­land on Mon­day, Au­gust 15: Bus will leave vil­lage at 11 a.m., and will re­turn at ap­prox 9.30 p.m. We ar­rive in time for light re­fresh­ments and to at­tend Mass. God’s House­keep­ers are looking for help on Mon­day morn­ings for half an hour from 10.45 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. to clean St Mary’s Church, even if you can­not com­mit to every week, every sec­ond week, once a month, all help ap­pre­ci­ated.


The Kil­macanogue Pre­sid­ium neets at 3.30 p.m. every Tues­day in the sac­risty of St Mo­chonog’s. New mem­bers are most wel­come. Group re­cite the Rosary on the first Satur­day of each month at mid­day at the Grotto in the Church grounds. Visit le­gionof­mary.ie for more.


James Scan­nell, vice-chair­per­son of the Bray Cualann His­tor­i­cal and PRO of the Old Dublin So­ci­ety, will be the guest speaker for the Thurs­day, May 12, 8.30 p.m. meet­ing of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety, which meets un­der the guid­ance of its pres­i­dent John Cal­lan in the Pow­er­scourt Arms and Coun­try House Ho­tel. He will present his lec­ture ‘Some County Wick­low Rail­way Mishaps’. All wel­come – con­tri­bu­tion €4. Fur­ther in­for­ma­tion on the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety and its ac­tiv­i­ties avail­able from John Cal­lan at 01 2867853. at 5.30 p.m. for learn­ers and 6.30 for the more ad­vanced, and this will con­tinue till Septem­ber 20. Sports will in­clude ca­noe­ing, body board­ing, pad­dle board­ing, coas­t­eer­ing, and snorkelling.
