Wick­low Rose to be se­lected this week

JUST days re­main be­fore the new Wick­low Rose will be crowned.

This year’s se­lec­tion night takes place this Satur­day, May 7, at the Grand Ho­tel and eight girls will com­pete for the 2016 ti­tle.

The fi­nal con­tes­tant to regis­ter is Lau­ren Ward from En­nis­cor­thy. Lau­ren is cur­rently com­plet­ing a Hos­pi­tal­ity and Tourism Pro­gramme in Wex­ford run by Bar­row Con­sul­tancy and Train­ing Ltd. She has com­pleted mod­ules such as Cus­tomer Ser­vice, Restau­rant Hos­pi­tal­ity, Tourism Prin­ci­ple and Prac­tice, Food Safety & HACCP, Barista and Bar Skills, Man­ual Han­dling and much more.

She is spon­sored by Bar­row Con­sul­tancy and Train­ing Ltd who are based in Car­low and of­fer a range of train­ing cour­ses through­out Wick­low and Ire­land.

Satu­day’s event will be hosted by TV per­son­al­ity Brian Or­mond and will kick off at 8 p.m.

There will be a prize for best dressed lady and spe­cial guest will be Me­gan Swart, out­go­ing Wick­low Rose.

This year’s win­ner is al­ready guar­an­teed a place in the finals in Tralee as the re­gional event is not tak­ing place.

Tick­ets cost €20 at the door and all are wel­come.
