Hori­zon, BBC2, Wed­nes­day 8pm The weath­er­man Peter Gibbs, who spent two years dur­ing the 1980s at the Hal­ley re­search sta­tion, re­turn­ing there for nine days to the Ice Sta­tion Antarc­tica af­ter a long sea voy­age to find the lat­est ver­sion of the lab on the ice shelf larger and less ram­shackle than he re­mem­bered.

The lab how­ever is threat­ened by a rapidly widen­ing chasm in the ice that could cast it adrift on a mas­sive ice­berg.
