Mississippi choir to sing for Living Life
ON MONDAY, May 16, 20 singers from Millsaps College Chamber in Mississippi and local Irish traditional musicians ‘ The Double Barrels’ will give a benefit concert at The Well Church opposite the Royal Hotel in Bray.
The concert will be in aid of Living Life Counselling Centre, which provides support for those will limited financial means, and will take place at 8 p.m. Entry is free although a donation of €5 is suggested with all proceeds going to Living Life. The programme is a mix of European and American composers and also includes spirituals and folk songs along with traditional Irish music performed on fiddle, uilleann pipes and bouzouki. The singers are aged 18-21 and will be visiting County Wicklow as part of first time tour to Ireland. Previous tours have taken the Chamber Singers to Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain and Portugal, England, and most recently to Greece.
