Con­grat­u­la­tions on rugby vic­tory

Cllr Gail Dunne led con­grat­u­la­tions to Wick­low Rugby Club on their mem­o­rable win against En­nis­cor­thy on Sun­day in the Pro­vin­cial Towns Cup.

‘I want to ex­tend heart con­grat­u­la­tions to the Wick­low club. It is their first time to win this cup and it is a great oc­ca­sion for the club and the sur­round­ing area. They won the match against a very good En­nis­cor­thy side,’ he said.

Cllr Tom For­tune also ex­tended con­grat­u­la­tions to the side for which his nephew plays.

While con­grat­u­la­tions were be­ing ex­tended, Cllr Gerry O’Neill took the op­por­tu­nity to com­mend those in­volved in the 1916 com­mem­o­ra­tions in Knock­ananna and across the county.

Cathaoir­leach John Ryan agreed and said ‘all the mon­u­ments have added to our civic en­vi­ron­ments’.

Cllr Irene Win­ters said that she wished for­mer col­league Simon Har­ris well on his ap­point­ment as Min­is­ter for Health and Cllr Ryan said it would be re­miss not to men­tion the ap­point­ment of for­mer coun­cil­lor Shane Ross as Min­is­ter for Trans­port.

Fans cel­e­brat­ing Wick­low RFC’s vic­tory af­ter the fi­nal whis­tle on Sun­day.
