20 houses set for Rathdrum

Bray People - - NEWS -

THERE was some good news for those seeking social housing in Wicklow as 20 houses are to be built in Rathdrum.

Members signed off on the plans on Monday for the development at Brewery Straight.

A presentation was given by Coady Architects outlining that there will be one-, two- and three-bed units curved around an amenity space. They will have a BER rating of A3. Cllr Pat Fitzgerald proposed the report and said that it is ‘good news for south Wicklow’.

‘ This will help in the rural community of Rathdrum and I welcome the fact that there is space for more houses to be built in the future.’

Cllr Pat Fitzgerald shared this view and seconded the proposal.

‘ This appears to be a very well laid out estate. There are currently 868 people on the Arklow Municipal District housing list so this is extremely welcome. I look forward to seeking the houses built and open to the public,’ he said.

Cllr John Snell complimented the company on its design and said that it was no surprise given their recent award win for their Arklow Library design.
