Issues of importance for older people up for AGM discussion
THE issues of importance to older people across the county will be up for discussion at the upcoming County Wicklow Network for Older People AGM.
The meeting takes place on Friday, May 13, at the Brockagh Resource, Laragh and will welcome older people and delegates from organisations all over Wicklow.
All groups and individuals who have an interest in promoting and participating in activities that enhance the life of Older People County Wicklow are encouraged to attend.
The day-long event will run from 10 a.m. to 3.45 p.m., starting with the AGM which will conclude by 11.45 a.m. ahead of a question and answer forum with the five Wicklow TDs (depending on availability).
In previous years, important topics such as elderly care, crime, finances and taxation have been raised and discussed, with many older people sharing their stories in a public forum to create awareness and start a debate.
Organisers will be providing information on the Age Friendly Programme and proposed changes to the structure of the network.
As in previous years, after the formalities, guests will be served lunch before enjoying an afternoon tea dance with music by the Wicklow Man.
Registration for the AGM will be open on Friday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. but forms can be submitted ahead of time by email or post to Garvan Hickey, Age Friendly Programme, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Station Road, Wicklow or firstname.lastname@example.org
