Food and wine fundraiser for Down Syndrome Wicklow
Martello head chef Karl Clarke took the lead at the seafront venue last Thursday night, with a food demonstration for Down Syndrome Wicklow.
The food and wine evening was held as a fundraiser for the local cause.
The event was a huge success, if a little messy with pizza dough towards the end. There was a full house for the event, with football legend Damien Duff among those to enjoy the demonstration and taste the food
Down Syndrome Wicklow provides support and information to families with a child, teen or adult with Down syndrome.
Their goal is to support our members with Down syndrome to achieve their full potential by facilitating their physical, mental and social development through the provision of supplemental support and assistance to them and their families.
They also coordinate activities such as yoga, music and cycling. The group recently organised activities to Kidzone and to Dublin Zoo to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.
Chairperson Jen Rushe was among those to attend last Thursday’s event.
