Children’s Communion Choir: We are in need of some new voices for the Choir. If you are over 8 and would like to sing at the Communion Masses on May 15 and May 22. We are continuing rehearsals this Sunday after the 10.30 a.m. Mass in the Youth Centre. All are welcome!
Lourdes Pilgrimage September 16 to September 7 to September 12 : The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €19pps. St Fergal’s Parish Jubilee Art Exhibition: In St Fergal’s National School, Boghall Road, Bray, from Friday, May 20, to Sunday, May 22. Crosscare: The annual Collection for CROSSCARE Youth Services – Social Support Agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin will take place at all the masses this weekend. It will replace the normal Share Collection. Crosscare provide a wide range of focused supports and programmes aimed at empowering people to achieve their own potential. Our work is person centred, rights based and supports peer led initiatives that give people the power to make changes in their own lives.

QOP YOUTH CLUB
Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club had 40-two members swimming and playing football in shoreline on Friday. This was the last of these particular activities till next October.
From May 3 till September 20 the club will be having water sports which will include canoeing, body boarding, paddle boarding, coasteering, and snorkelling. Other events will be Hostelling, and a trip to Clara Fun Park, More canoe instructors are urgently needed. For details call Albert at 087 6756439.
Wicklow Aquanauts Sub-Aqua Club (Bray Divers) welcomes new trainee junior snorkelers Nathan Nolan, and Fionn Brien. There are more places available and the club expects these to be filled within the next two weeks. Lectures, pool and sea training will begin and conclude in May. At least 10 snorkels will be arranged during the season.

Bray Library hosts 2 Book Clubs: The Family Book Club ages 8 – 12 and parents, meets on a Saturday at 2.45 p.m.; The Adult Book Club meets on a Wednesday at 11 a.m. Please ask the library staff for the next meeting date of each of these groups. IRISH FILM SCREENING
Canola Pictures in association with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) will screen the film ‘The Humpback Whales of Cape Verde’ as part of a unique collaboration with the libraries of Ireland. This Irish made film will be shown tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in Bray. Library, Eglinton Road, Bray, and is one of a limited number of screenings in libraries around
Ireland. Admission is free but as places are limited these will be allocated on a first come basis.
LOCAL HISTORY TALKS
Bray Library in association with Sunbeam House, are hosting a series of six 60-minute local history talks at 2 p.m. on consecutive Fridays dealing with aspects of Bray and County Wicklow history, presented by local historians Brian White and James Scannell from the Bray Cualann Historical Society.
The series continues this Friday with ‘From Grand Jury to County Council ; Local Government Structures in County Wicklow’ presented’ by James Scannell, with Brian White presenting the final two talks on Friday, May 20, – ‘Trade/Industry’, concluding on Friday, May 27, with ‘Genealogy Records/Family Research Local Government’. All are welcome and admission is free.

James Scannell will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, May 19, meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, at which he presented his lecture ‘The Picture Postcards of John Hinde’ at 8 p.m. in the Kinsale Room of the Royal Hotel, Main Street, Bray. annual Membership of the Bray Cualann Historical Society is €15 and covers 2 Adults+2 Children.
The Society’s annual outing will take place on Sunday, May 22, visiting the sites associated with 1916 in Wicklow. The Tour will cost €5 and will include Bus, morning tea or coffee and admission fees. This tour which has received funding from 1916-2016 Fund and Wicklow County Council, is now fully booked.
