Resource Centre Hours: St Anne’s Resource Centre is open 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those requiring Baptism/Confirmation certificates or application forms for Baptism can obtain them during the above hours. Please note that the Parish Office is the only place where certificates and application forms can be processed.
Mass Times: Mass is celebrated in St Anne’s Church at 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, (except August and September). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8 a.m., (9 a.m. in St Patrick’s Church in St Columcille’s Hospital), 10.30 a.m. (Family Mass), midday, and 6 p.m. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10 a.m. Mass, between 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., and after the 6.30 p.m. Mass. Mass is now broadcast on-line and can be viewed by logging onto the parish website:stannesparishshankill.com and then clicking onto video link.
Baptism Times: Baptisms take place in St Anne’s Church at 1 p.m. on the first Sunday of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the second and fourthd Saturdays of the Month. A month’s notice is required. Please contact the St Anne’s Parish Office located in St Anne’s Resource Centre to make your arrangements. Please note that when visiting the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, the child’s birth certificate should be brought as it necessary to photocopy it for the parish records but it will be returned immediately.
Pre Baptism Meetings: Pre Baptism Meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month for parents presenting their children for Baptism the following month.
Secret Choir Rehearsal: Tonight (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. in St Anne’s Church. All welcome.
Holy Communion: For those who find it difficult to get up to receive Holy Communion please make yourself known and, if possible, sit up close to the front so Ministers of the Eucharist or a Priest can go to you. Thank You.
Parish Pilgrimage to Knock: Takes place this Saturday, the Feast of Our Lady Queen of Apostles. Cost is €20 with Tea or coffee and scone included. For anyone who has not yet paid please send in payment as soon as possible. Bus will leave church grounds at 7.30 a.m. sharp on the day.
St Anne’s Parish Pastoral Council Meeting: The May meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting took place in St Anne’s Resource Centre last Monday night at 8 p.m.
Pentecost Sunday: In celebration of the vibrant community spirit in Shankill, we are once again, preparing for the 6 p.m. evening Mass on Pentecost Sunday (May 15). Secret Choir Rehearsal – We need more voices and musicians. Rehearsals take place at 8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday). Please bring a friend. All Welcome. We also need someone to volunteer to help with the sound system in the church for the Pentecost Mass.

Appeal For Adorers. Did you know that our Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel is open Monday to Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and also from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. At present, we are appealing for people to ‘watch one hour’ with the Lord. There will be a book in the Chapel for you to sign in. If there is no one present when you have to leave the Chapel, we ask that you close over the tabernacle doors.
Bethany Bereavement Group: The Bethany Bereavement Group is a voluntary parish-based ministry who are trained to listen and to help the bereaved and grieving. The Group holds a Drop-in Centre on the First Friday of the Month at 10.30 a.m. in St, Anne’s Resource Centre, and can be contacted via St Anne’s Resource Centre by calling 01-282 2704.
Crosscare: The annual Collection for CROSSCARE Youth Services – Social Support Agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin will take place at all the masses this weekend. It will replace the normal Share Collec- tion. Crosscare provide a wide range of focused supports and programmes aimed at empowering people to achieve their own potential. Our work is person centred, rights based and supports peer led initiatives that give people the power to make changes in their own lives.
The St Vincent de Paul Sunshine Fund: The Sunshine Fund would like to thank most sincerely the congregation of St Anne’s Parish for their generous contribution of €2,690 on Palm Sunday. They rely heavily on the funds generated through this collection and your support is greatly appreciated.

Altar Society: The Altar Society comprises of parishioners who prepare and arrange floral displays for the church each week, working either singly or in pairs. The use of fresh flowers enhances the church space especially the sanctuary, and these floral displays also help to reflect the changing Seasons of both the calendar year and the church’s year. If you are interested in joining the Altar Society please call into the Parish Office.
Apostolic Work: Do you like sewing? Would you like to join a group making vestments and altar linens for missionary parishes? All materials supplied. We meet on Thursdays in the parish resource centre at 11 a.m. Contact Kathie at 2823014 or just come along!
Church Choirs: Youth Choir sing at 10.30 a.m. Mass each Sunday. Adult Choir sing at midday Mass each Sunday. The Secret Choir sing at various events throughout the year. If you would like to join any of our Choirs please contact the Parish Office.
Suggestion Box: We now have a Suggestion Box in the church. We welcome suggestions/comments/ideas you may have with regard to improving our Parish Community. These suggestions will be brought to the Pastoral Council Meetings which are held monthly.
Men’s coffee morning: The Men’s coffee morning takes place every Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. in St Anne’s Resource Centre. .

SUICIDE OR SURVIVE
Suicide or Survive is launching an exciting new programme. Are you supporting a family member, friend, work colleague or someone who is struggling with their mental health? If so, this programme is for you.

There was a very good attendance at last Saturday mornings May First Saturday Book Sale in the Shankill Old Folks Associ- ation Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the usual excellent array of books at bargain process available.
The June First Saturday Book Sale will take place on Saturday, June 4, in the same cenue between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. so make a point of calling in during that Saturday morning as it is a great way to pick up some excellent reading material at bargain prices. Donations of books, other than school/text books, accepted on the day.
Opening hours for Shankill Library are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and on alternate Fridays and Saturdays. The library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The library will be open this Friday but closed on Saturday. Members of the Rathmichael Historical Society, the local history society for Shankill, Ballybrack/Killiney and surrounding area, are invited to tomorrows (Thursday) launch by Arklow local historian Jim Rees of ‘Revolt in Co. Wicklow: A History of County Wicklow 1913 to 1913’ at 7.15 p.m. in Bray Town Hall, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Published by the Old Bray Society with funding assistance from 1916-2016 Fund and Wicklow County Council, this publication includes articles contributed by Jim Rees, Dr Ruan O’Donnell, Henry Cairns, John Finlay, James Scannell, Eva Ó Cathaoir, and Robert Butler. Copies will be on sale on the launch and from the Town Hall Book Shop, Florence Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Members are also invited to tomorrow night’s 8.30 p.m. lecture by James Scannell recalling ‘Some County Wicklow Railway Mishaps’ to the Enniskerry History Society in the Powerscourt Arms and County House Hotel, Enniskerry Village, to which all are welcome – admission €4.
