Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8 a.m., (9 a.m. in St Pa­trick’s Church in St Colum­cille’s Hospi­tal), 10.30 a.m. (Fam­ily Mass), mid­day, and 6 p.m. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10 a.m. Mass, be­tween 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., and af­ter the 6.30 p.m. Mass. Mass is now broad­cast on-line and can be viewed by log­ging onto the par­ish web­site:stannes­ and then click­ing onto video link.

Bap­tism Times: Bap­tisms take place in St Anne’s Church at 1 p.m. on the first Sun­day of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the sec­ond and fourthd Satur­days of the Month. A month’s no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact the St Anne’s Par­ish Of­fice lo­cated in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the Par­ish Of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child’s birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the par­ish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Pre Bap­tism Meet­ings: Pre Bap­tism Meet­ings are held on the last Thurs­day of ev­ery month for par­ents pre­sent­ing their chil­dren for Bap­tism the fol­low­ing month.

Par­ish Pil­grim­age to Knock: Takes place this Satur­day, the Feast of Our Lady Queen of Apos­tles. Cost is €20 with Tea or cof­fee and scone in­cluded. For any­one who has not yet paid please send in pay­ment as soon as pos­si­ble. Bus will leave church grounds at 7.30 a.m. sharp on the day.

St Anne’s Par­ish Pas­toral Coun­cil Meet­ing: The May meet­ing of the Par­ish Pas­toral Coun­cil Meet­ing took place in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre last Mon­day night at 8 p.m.

Pen­te­cost Sun­day: In cel­e­bra­tion of the vi­brant com­mu­nity spirit in Shankill, we are once again, pre­par­ing for the 6 p.m. evening Mass on Pen­te­cost Sun­day (May 15). Se­cret Choir Re­hearsal – We need more voices and mu­si­cians. Re­hearsals take place at 8 p.m. tonight (Wed­nes­day). Please bring a friend. All Wel­come. Ap­peal For Ador­ers. Did you know that our Blessed Sacra­ment Ado­ra­tion Chapel is open Mon­day to Fri­day from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and also from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. At present, we are ap­peal­ing for peo­ple to ‘watch one hour’ with the Lord. Bethany Be­reave­ment Group: The Bethany Be­reave­ment Group is a vol­un­tary par­ish-based min­istry who are trained to lis­ten and to help the be­reaved and griev­ing. Cross­care: The an­nual Col­lec­tion for CROSS­CARE Youth Ser­vices – So­cial Sup­port Agency of the Catholic Arch­dio­cese of Dublin will take place at all the masses this week­end. It will re­place the nor­mal Share Col­lec- tion. Cross­care pro­vide a wide range of fo­cused sup­ports and pro­grammes aimed at em­pow­er­ing peo­ple to achieve their own po­ten­tial. Our work is per­son cen­tred, rights based and sup­ports peer led ini­tia­tives that give peo­ple the power to make changes in their own lives.

The St Vin­cent de Paul Sun­shine Fund: The Sun­shine Fund would like to thank most sin­cerely the con­gre­ga­tion of St Anne’s Par­ish for their gen­er­ous con­tri­bu­tion of €2,690 on Palm Sun­day. They rely heav­ily on the funds gen­er­ated through this col­lec­tion and your sup­port is greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.

Al­tar So­ci­ety: The Al­tar So­ci­ety com­prises of parish­ioners who pre­pare and ar­range flo­ral dis­plays for the church each week, work­ing ei­ther singly or in pairs. The use of fresh flow­ers en­hances the church space es­pe­cially the sanc­tu­ary, and these flo­ral dis­plays also help to re­flect the chang­ing Sea­sons of both the cal­en­dar year and the church’s year. If you are in­ter­ested in join­ing the Al­tar So­ci­ety please call into the Par­ish Of­fice.

Apos­tolic Work: Do you like sewing? Would you like to join a group mak­ing vest­ments and al­tar linens for mis­sion­ary parishes? All ma­te­ri­als sup­plied. We meet on Thurs­days in the par­ish re­source cen­tre at 11 a.m. Con­tact Kathie at 2823014 or just come along!

Sui­cide or Sur­vive is launch­ing an ex­cit­ing new pro­gramme. Are you sup­port­ing a fam­ily mem­ber, friend, work col­league or some­one who is strug­gling with their men­tal health? If so, this pro­gramme is for you.

There was a very good at­ten­dance at last Satur­day morn­ings May First Satur­day Book Sale in the Shankill Old Folks As­soci- ation Day Cen­tre, Lower Road, Shankill, be­tween 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the usual ex­cel­lent ar­ray of books at bar­gain process avail­able.

The June First Satur­day Book Sale will take place on Satur­day, June 4, in the same cenue be­tween 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. so make a point of call­ing in dur­ing that Satur­day morn­ing as it is a great way to pick up some ex­cel­lent read­ing ma­te­rial at bar­gain prices. Do­na­tions of books, other than school/text books, ac­cepted on the day.


Open­ing hours for Shankill Li­brary are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mon­days and Wed­nes­days and on al­ter­nate Fri­days and Satur­days. Mem­bers of the Rathmichael His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety, the lo­cal his­tory so­ci­ety for Shankill, Bally­brack/Killiney and sur­round­ing area, are in­vited to to­mor­rows (Thurs­day) launch by Ark­low lo­cal his­to­rian Jim Rees of ‘Re­volt in Co. Wick­low: A His­tory of County Wick­low 1913 to 1913’ at 7.15 p.m. in Bray Town Hall, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wick­low. Pub­lished by the Old Bray So­ci­ety with fund­ing as­sis­tance from 1916-2016 Fund and Wick­low County Coun­cil, this pub­li­ca­tion in­cludes ar­ti­cles con­trib­uted by Jim Rees, Dr Ruan O’Don­nell, Henry Cairns, John Fin­lay, James Scan­nell, Eva Ó Cathaoir, and Robert But­ler. Copies will be on sale on the launch and from the Town Hall Book Shop, Florence Road, Bray, Co. Wick­low.
