St Colman’s Residential Care Centre in Rathdrum got a major boost recently when they reopened Heather Rest (Unit D) which was out of commission for some time due to the Health cutbacks.
The extra 12 beds and additional services will provide the required environmental space for regular patients and respite patients and will also help Staff in servicing the very popular Day Care Centre and the Sheltered House residents.
The news on the plans for the new Hospital is also positive. In a recent review of the plans it is to go for signing off and it is all systems go for the 8.2 million First Phase of the project.
This development is warmly welcomed by the Management and Staff at St Colman’s who continue their philosophy of respecting the dignity and unique worth of each resident, fostering a holistic approach in all aspects of care, promoting the independence and well-being of residents physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
The quality of life is maintained and promoted to the fullest extent possible for the residents by the wide range of meaningful opportunities and activities that are available to them. St Colman’s has provided a unique service of care in the area for many years and the new development will enhance this service for many years to come.
