Prepa­ra­tions are un­der way for this years Crossbridge Field Day which will take place on Sun­day, June 5, at 2 p.m. in the new Par­ish Field. We have a num­ber of new at­trac­tions for this fun fam­ily day out. We are also seek­ing new ideas for quirky fun for all the fam­ily. The Coolfancy Play­ers will present ‘ Wake in the West’, a three act com­edy by Michael J. Gin­nelly, for three nights ; Thurs­day 19th, Fri­day and Satur­day, May 20 and 21, at 8 p.m. in Coolfancy Hall.

Di­rected by Noel Dal­ton, the com­edy is set in the 1980s on the out­skirts of a small west of Ire­land town and tells the story of a se­ries of un­for­tu­nate events sur­round­ing the wake of Tom Healy. A great laugh is guar­an­teed for all who at­tend.

Tick­ets are €10 and are avail­able from Cool­boy Post Of­fice, Coolfancy Na­tional School and cast mem­bers. All pro­ceeds will go to­wards re­dec­o­rat­ing the hall.


On Sun­day, May 15, the walk as at Lug­naquilla (Grade A, 25k, All day). Meet­ing in Ti­na­hely at 9 a.m. On Sun­day, May 22, the walk is at Avon­dale, Rath­drum (Grade C/B 12k) Meet­ing in Ti­na­hely at 10.30 a.m.

Dog own­ers. To those that walk their pets on leash, a big thank you. To those that don’t please be aware you are en­dan­ger­ing the fu­ture of the walks for the wider com­mu­nity. The Rail­way Walk and ex­ten­sion have a strict rule that dogs must be on leash and no dogs are per­mit­ted on any of the looped walks.
