Could you run the ‘Rock’?
ON Saturday, June 4, at 11am in the luxurious surrounds of the Brooklogde Hotel, Macreddin, the starting gun will sound the start of ‘Run The Rock 2016’.
This is a run which tests both body and mind. Some say its a ‘character builder’.
Overlooking Aughrim, Cushbawn is a 400m high mountain with stunning views over surrounding countryside and hills. It is a formidable challenge to walk this let alone endeavour to run it. You will encounter a 350m climb in the first 3km of this forest trail. When you reach the top you can quench your thirst at the summit water station where you can admire the stunning views.
You will then descend via more forest trails and loop around the Sean Linehan Walk and back up to the finish line at the Brooklodge. (outside Actons Bar)
There is also a 3.5k family walk/ run on the day too.
