NET­WORK FOR OLDER PEO­PLE AGM

The County Wick­low Net­work for Older Peo­ple AGM was held last Fri­day at the Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre with peo­ple from all over Wick­low at­tend­ing for an in­for­ma­tive morn­ing fol­lowed by lunch and af­ter­noon danc­ing with the Wick­low Man and plenty of sun­shine. All groups and in­di­vid­u­als who had an in­ter­est in pro­mot­ing and par­tic­i­pat­ing in ac­tiv­i­ties that en­hance the life of Older Peo­ple County Wick­low were en­cour­aged to at­tend.

CAR BOOT SALE

Come along to the Brock­agh Cen­tre for a browse on Sun­day, June 5, for our monthly Car Boot. Many peo­ple find this a great way to clear out their home and make some money in the process while hav­ing a so­cial day out. Bar­gains are al­ways avail­able from home bak­ing, plants, clothes, movies, CDs, books and an­tiques etc. What­ever you are look­ing for, you are sure to find it at the Glen­dalough car boot sale. Vans must be booked in. Book in­door spa­ces early but if you would rather be out­side just show up in the morn­ing at 8 a.m. Con­tact the Brock­agh Cen­tre at 0404-45600.

YOGA WITH VIVA

Yoga with Viva at the Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre ev­ery Wed­nes­day at 7 p.m. This class is suit­able for all ages and abil­i­ties. Yoga can re­store vi­tal en­ergy and leave one feel­ing calm, yet at the same time strong. One can take up Yoga at any age. Any­one from cool teenagers to ac­tive se­niors will ben­e­fit. Yoga is non-com­pet­i­tive – all that is nec­es­sary is to work whole­heart­edly to the best of one’s abil­ity. To find out more call 0404 40000 or check out yo­ga­tree.ie.

LADIES SOC­CER

St Kevin’s Ladies Soc­cer St Kevin’s Ladies are now re­cruit­ing for this year’s Dublin Women’s Soc­cer League. Par­tic­i­pants have to be 15 years (with parental per­mis­sion) and over. TEA DANCE

As part of the Beal­taine Fes­ti­val we are cel­e­brat­ing cre­ativ­ity in older age to­gether at the Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre and one of our events will be an af­ter­noon tea dance on Sun­day, May 22, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with mu­sic from the Wick­low Man and hosted by Laragh Glen­dalough Ac­tive Re­tire­ment as­so­ci­a­tion. Re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided.

SHAKE-UP DAY

You are cor­dially in­vited to at­tend ‘Shake-Up Day’ at the Brock­agh Cen­tre, Laragh on Thurs­day, June 2, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. cof­fee from 10.30 a.m. light lunch at 1 p.m. Scidils 11 a.m., Flisks mid­day and Lob­bers 12.30 p.m. County Wick­low needs to form a team this year. (DCU Satur­day, June 11).

Pre­vi­ous Mem­bers will at­test to the sociable, vig­or­ous and ful­lon en­er­getic ex­pe­ri­ence en­joyed by play­ing the Games against 32 other county teams. Team play­ers turn up at the Brock­agh each year and try their luck in be­ing picked for the team again.

Come along and take on th­ese sea­soned play­ers and try to in­ject a bit of com­pe­ti­tion for places and there are nine places on the team with each player play­ing all three games (new for­mat this year). COM­MU­NION: Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Boys and Girls who re­ceived the Sacra­ment of First Holy Com­mu­nion in St Joseph’s Church on Satur­day, May 14,. Many Thanks to Canon Smith for lovely cer­e­monies. Thanks to Ms. Nolan, Mr O’Brien, Teach­ers, SNA staff, School Sec­re­taries and ev­ery­one who worked so hard to make this such a spe­cial oc­ca­sion. Thanks to Choir from third/4th class, In­stru­men­tal Group, Soloists, Tea Ladies and Par­ents from third class for the re­fresh­ments af­ter Mass.

DEL­GANY GOLF COMPE- TITION: Well done to our Two Golf Teams who took part in the Del­gany Golf Club Schools’ Golf Com­pe­ti­tion on Mon­day, May 16. Many Thanks to Mr O’Rior­dan and Joan for preparaing the chil­dren and ac­com­pa­ny­ing them.
