Killruddery to host pianist Goode as part of festival
PIANIST Richard Goode will play at Killruddery House on Saturday, June 11, as part of the 2016 Great Music in Irish Houses festival.
Following his sensational début performance in 2014, iconic American pianist Richard Goode returns to the festival where audiences will be treated to his interpretations of the last three piano sonatas of Schubert.
Lauded as a true pianist’s pianist, Goode is deservedly recognised as one of the modern greats and the beautiful Orangery at Killruddery provides the perfect setting for this much-anticipated concert.
The festival features a line-up of celebrated Irish and international artists, performing in a variety of wonderful venues over six days from June 7 to 12.
Great Music in Irish Houses is a unique fes- tival that will excite audiences with an array of performances featuring works from illustrious composers including Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Shostakovich and Reich. The 2016 festival also presents a day-long series of concerts to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, whose works have inspired composers throughout the centuries.
For 46 years, Great Music in Irish Houses has enriched Ireland’s cultural calendar with a combination of stunning performances against beautiful and intriguing backdrops including the National Botanic Gardens, the Chapel Royal in Dublin Castle and the Dublin Writers’ Museum and new for 2016, The GPO and the Casino Marino.
