SOUTH EAST ROAD CLUB
Another busy and successful week for the South East Road Club. Last Wednesday was the final round of the Slaney league in Enniscorthy and a great night for SERC with Larry Doyle taking second place on the night and winning the league overall.
Larry showed great strength and fitness every week never finishing outside the top three remarkable as this is Larry’s first ever year to race, huge congratulations and well done Larry.
Thursday night the race crew head- ed to Gorey for round 3 of the Gorey league; a tough course consisting of laps of Kilmurry hill.
In the A4 race Wayne Byrne finished third from a three-man break and the ever impressive Johnathan Russell taking the bunch sprint to finish in fourth place.
In the A1/2/3 race Liam Curley took a fantastic win after some great riding to not only chase down the breakaway but to ride on past and take a very impressive win against some of the best riders in the south east . Well done Liam.
On Saturday last some members from our touring section took part in the Mount Leinster challenge involving 140k and two ascents of Mount Leinster. Well done to all.
Our mountain bikers were at it again making the long trip to lady Dixon park in Belfast for the latest round of the XC series. Well done to Derrick Evans who finished in the top 10 in the S2 section and also a great ride from Tony Barnes finishing in the top 20 in the S3 section well done boys.
Our club spins continue every Sunday leaving Fern Hill plaza at 9.30pm.
