En­ter­pris­ing crowds at Loreto

THERE WAS A free com­mu­nity en­ter­prise town event held in Loreto Bray last Fri­day and Satur­day in as­so­ci­a­tion with Bank of Ire­land. More than 55 lo­cal busi­ness and clubs were in­volved in mak­ing the two-day pro­gramme a huge suc­cess. The par­tic­i­pants were there to dis­play, trade and net­work. Min­is­ter Si­mon Har­ris was at Loreto on Fri­day to launch En­ter­prise Town. Gavin Duffy from Dragons Den ad­dressed those present. Louise Fleming from Wick­low En­ter­prise Of­fice also made an ap­pear­ance, as did mo­ti­va­tional speaker Eric Dempsey. Bray Mu­si­cal So­ci­ety pro­vided the mu­sic on Satur­day, which had a big fo­cus on com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions. There was also face-paint­ing and a food mar­ket. Groups to ex­hibit at the event in­cluded Wick­low Lawn Tennis Club and Bray Cam­era Club. There were a few Robin Hoods there on Satur­day, with a dis­play of archery. There was a lo­cal sports and clubs panel, and a steady stream of vis­i­tors to the event.
