EMMA WINS TY SCHOLARSHIP TO DENMARK
Teenager Emma Byrne has won the chance of a lifetime with a scholarship to the Orkester Efterskolen in Holestbro in West Denmark.
Emma (16) is a violin student of Bray Music Centre.
She will spend her Transition Year in Holestbro on the orchestra programme where she will become a member of a symphony orchestra.
She will have a taste of what it is like to be a professional musician and will also be spending some time learning the Danish language and about Danish culture.
Emma studied violin with Tracy Plavans and Lucy Perkins at Bray Music Centre and was a member of the Bray and Greystones Youth Orchestra and the Dublin Youth Orchestra.
‘It is a great achievement and we wish her all success,’ said a spokesman for the school.
The Bray resident is a student at Loreto secondary school.
For over 30 years the Bray Music Centre has offered high standards of tuition with excellent results. The school provides a comprehensive range of courses in music for children and adults at the Florence Road campus.
