Boxers keep bringing the titles home to Arklow
ARKLOW boxers are on a summer break having won 14 titles last season. But that doesn’t tell the complete story.
Both Amber Byrne and Tegan Farrell have recently won Irish titles while Daniel Feokrytov, Sean Crowley, Paddy McKenzie, Natalie Byrne, Amber Byrne, Tegan Farrell, Leanne Doyle, and Shannon Just all won Leinster titles.
Paddy, Sean, Shannon, and Leanne also reached the Irish finals where three of them lost on split decisions which would have given the club a record number of Irish titles.
Next season, which starts on first week in September, the club will have some of their underage boxers coming of age and will contest the Leinster championships.
The club will have their fun day and presentations on Friday night, June 24, when all club members are invited to the club at 6pm to have fun on the bouncy castle and lots of games to be played.
The club are hoping to run a summer camp in August and details will be notified later.
Meanwhile a group of ladies led by club secretary Linda Morgan ran in Monday’s Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin to raise much needed funds for the club.
