Shield final defeat
Hard luck to the Glencormac United under-12 team that suffered a 2-0 defeat to Carnew in the Shield Final held in Aughrim on Saturday. The Glens got off to the worst possible start, conceding two deflected goals in the first five minutes which left them with a mountain to climb but the lads got into the game after the sluggish start and dominated the rest of the game but just couldn’t put their chances away. Manager Karl Bradshaw would like to say a big thanks for all the support on the day and a big thanks to all the parents for their help over the season and especially Terry Morgan and Jason Byrne for their coaching support but the biggest thanks of all goes to the players for giving him so much enjoyment over the season. In typical defiant mood, ‘The Brad’ says ‘Let’s bring on next season with a new challenge in the big goals and full size pitch’. Well done 12s, still a super season and enjoy the week long summer camp in July.
