Plucks Golf outing
The latest outing of Plucks Golf Society took place last Saturday in the Glen O’Downs Golf Club.
The event was kindly sponsored by society member Mick Holly of Cedar Building Ltd and won by Gerry Touhy with a great score of 42 points. In second was Colm Griffith (39 pts) and third was John Lyster (39 points).
Category One winner was Tom Byrne (37), Category Two, Colm Mulligan (36 points) and Category three Paddy Harvey (34 points). The Front nine was won by Ray Lyster (21 points) and the Back nine winner was Mick Holly (18 points).
Nearest the pin winners were Trevor Carr (14th) and Stephen Pepper seventh while longest drive was hit by Kevin ‘Big Bang’ Molloy. The Par three Competition winner was John Lyster with 13 points.
The members all had a most enjoyable day and a huge thanks goes to Mick Holly and also to Helen and Nick of Plucks for the goody bags for all the golfers which is greatly appreciated plus the vouchers.
The Society match play is at semi-final stage and the draw took place on the night also pairing Colm ‘Cack hand’ Griffith v Trevor Carr while Mark Quinn takes on Stephen Pepper. Matches should be played by the societies next outing which takes place on July 16 in Druids Heath (Tee time 12;10).
