Plucks Golf out­ing

The lat­est out­ing of Plucks Golf So­ci­ety took place last Saturday in the Glen O’Downs Golf Club.

The event was kindly spon­sored by so­ci­ety mem­ber Mick Holly of Cedar Build­ing Ltd and won by Gerry Touhy with a great score of 42 points. In sec­ond was Colm Grif­fith (39 pts) and third was John Lys­ter (39 points).

Cat­e­gory One win­ner was Tom Byrne (37), Cat­e­gory Two, Colm Mul­li­gan (36 points) and Cat­e­gory three Paddy Har­vey (34 points). The Front nine was won by Ray Lys­ter (21 points) and the Back nine win­ner was Mick Holly (18 points).

Near­est the pin win­ners were Trevor Carr (14th) and Stephen Pep­per sev­enth while long­est drive was hit by Kevin ‘Big Bang’ Mol­loy. The Par three Com­pe­ti­tion win­ner was John Lys­ter with 13 points.

The mem­bers all had a most en­joy­able day and a huge thanks goes to Mick Holly and also to He­len and Nick of Plucks for the goody bags for all the golfers which is greatly ap­pre­ci­ated plus the vouch­ers.

The So­ci­ety match play is at semi-fi­nal stage and the draw took place on the night also pair­ing Colm ‘Cack hand’ Grif­fith v Trevor Carr while Mark Quinn takes on Stephen Pep­per. Matches should be played by the so­ci­eties next out­ing which takes place on July 16 in Druids Heath (Tee time 12;10).
