It is do or die for the Irish team at Euro 2016 at Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille.

After the promise of a 1-1 draw with Sweden, the boys in green came crashing down when soundly beaten 3-0 by Belgium on Saturday.

They face an already-qualified Italy, who got the better of both Belgium and Sweden. Ireland must beat the Italians to advance to the last 16. Italy defeated Ireland 2-0 in the group stage at Euro 2012, while Ireland’s sole victory against the Azzurri was that famous 1-0 win at the 1994 World Cup.

Most recently, Ireland drew 0-0 with Italy in a 2014 friendly in London.
