Bray’s Pur­ple House mak­ing its big ap­peal

PUR­PLE HOUSE Cancer Sup­port is call­ing on the pub­lic to sup­port their Pur­ple Heart Ap­peal which runs for the month of Fe­bru­ary.

The pur­ple heart is a sym­bol of sup­port for any­one af­fected by cancer.

Pur­ple House is to the fore­front in pro­vid­ing a range of cancer sup­port ser­vices to both chil­dren and adults, through the work of their cancer sup­port cen­tre in Bray, Co. Wick­low, and out­reach sup­port clinic in Dun Laoghaire.

The high­light of the Ap­peal is Pur­ple Heart Day, which takes place on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 14.

The pub­lic are be­ing asked to buy a Pur­ple Heart pin badge for €2 and wear it for a friend or loved one who is liv­ing with cancer, in mem­ory of some­one who has passed away, or in sup­port of Pur­ple House.

Vol­un­teers will be sell­ing Pur­ple Heart pin badges in var­i­ous lo­ca­tionsy, in­clud­ing Bray main street, Dalkey, Dun Laoghaire and in the Fras­cati Shop­ping Cen­tre in Black­rock.

Dur­ing the month of Fe­bru­ary, Pur­ple House will be re­leas­ing a num­ber of videos on their so­cial me­dia pages and web­site www.pur­ple­, which will high­light the im­pact of a cancer di­ag­no­sis on a fam­ily. To make a do­na­tion of €4, text pur­ple to 50300. On Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 14, why not hold a Pur­ple Heart Day in your school, club or work­place? Pur­ple House Cancer Sup­port will sup­ply you with the Pur­ple Heart pin badges, bal­loons and tee-shirts.

Some events al­ready planned in­clude a Pur­ple Heart Walk up Bray Head, or­gan­ised by The Ladies Work­out Ex­press gym and a Pur­ple Heart Day in Tcoag Ire­land.

Var­i­ous com­pa­nies are also hold­ing Pur­ple Heart Day events in their work­places.
