GAA LOTTO

There was no jack­pot win­ner last week. The num­bers were 6, 12, 22 and 26, and there was one match-three win­ner, scoop­ing €200. The next draw was on Mon­day, Jan­uary 30, for €9,600.

FIT­NESS TRANS­FOR­MA­TION

New­cas­tle res­i­dents’ as­so­ci­a­tion is a group of peo­ple who come to­gether to im­prove New­cas­tle as a place to live; by ad­dress­ing is­sues and act­ing as a voice for the com­mu­nity. It makes rep­re­sen­ta­tions to the Lo­cal Author­ity and to Gov­ern­ment bod­ies, or­gan­ises the en­try to the Tidy Town com­pe­ti­tion, li­aises with the lo­cal Gar­daí, ap­plies for grants to im­prove ameni­ties and puts up a Christ­mas tree ev­ery year.

On Mon­day night, Fe­bru­ary 6, we will have our com­mu­nity con­sul­ta­tion meet­ing up­stairs in the Cas­tle Inn to dream a dream of New­cas­tle in 2020 (up­dat­ing our three-year plan). The pur­pose of the 2020 Vi­sion meet­ing is to make a plan. The meet­ing will be at­tended by res­i­dents and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the var­i­ous groups, or­gan­i­sa­tions and in­ter­ests in the com­mu­nity. It will be made easy by an ex­pe­ri­enced fa­cilita-

Our monthly meet­ings has re­sumed once more in room six at the Com­mu­nity Cen­ter, start­ing 8 p.m. on the first Mon­day of ev­ery month where we en­gage in crafts, com­pe­ti­tions, quizzes, and much more, so do come along if you are in­ter­ested in join­ing our jolly bunch, new mem­bers are al­ways made most wel­come. MIND­FUL­NESS

Mind­ful­ness classes have started on Mon­days from 7.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. in the Cor­ner House, New­town­moun­tkennedy. These classes are suit­able for any­one com­pletely new to the prac­tice as well as for any­one with some pre­vi­ous ex­pe­ri­ence and would like to con­tinue. Mind­ful­ness is par­tic­u­larly help­ful for stress man­age­ment, anx­i­ety, in­som­nia, re­duc­ing pain and when
