Stage­bratz Starz will host a Mag­i­cal Evening of mu­sic in St Lau­rence O’Toole Church, Round­wood on Sun­day next, Fe­bru­ary 5, at 4 p.m. in aid of the Caro­line Foun­da­tion’s ‘GiveUSASong’ in aid of Cancer Clin­i­cal Re­search Trust (CCRT).

There will be a beau­ti­ful ar­ray of per­for­mances on the night from Stage­bratz Stars, Round­wood Choir, Round­wood Folk Group, Lor­can Nolan, Will Fitzpatrick, Stephen O’Sul­li­van, Jen­nifer Rochford, Dan Plum­mer, Round­wood Comhaltas and many more. Af­ter­wards there will be re­fresh­ments in Round­wood Parish Cen­tre where there will be a raf­fle.

This is a wonderful event for all the fam­ily to en­joy and all pro­ceeds from the event will be given to the CCRT. Bring a cush­ion for your com­fort. A pil­grim­age to Knock will take place on Sun­day, April 23, leav­ing Laragh at 7.30 a.m. and Round­wood at 8 a.m.. sharp. Break­fast, din­ner and bus is €60 per per­son. As Spring ap­proaches it’s that time of year when work starts on Tidy Towns in the area. A meet­ing for the Adopt A Spot vol­un­teers and any­one in­ter­ested in help­ing out with the Tidy Towns ef­fort in the area will take place at 8 p.m. on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 2, in Round­wood Parish Hall.


The Wick­low Man will play in Moneystown Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Fri­day 10 th Fe­bru­ary from 9.30 p.m. till 12. Teas served, re­fresh­ments also avail­able, door prizes. Come along and en­joy a night of waltz­ing, jive, etc.

Round­wood Men’s Shed con­tin­ues on Tues­days be­tween 10 and mid­day at Pat Carr’s place in Knock­ra­heen. Plans are un­der way to get down and dirty with raised bed gar­den­ing and wood turn­ing lessons for those in­ter­ested. If there is an un­used wood­turn­ing lathe ‘out there’ we will be de­lighted to give it a good home and put it to good use.

Eight free lessons on the use of lap­tops/tablets/smart­phones com­mences in Coláiste Chraobh Ab­hann, Kil­coole on Fri­day, Jan­uary 20. This is free one to one tu­ition and open to all ‘ma­ture stu­dents’, shed­ders or non-shed­ders – male or fe­male. 11.15 a.m. to 12.35 a.m. are the times and a cuppa with be served to fa­cil­i­tate so­cial in­ter­ac­tion. The next Round­wood Dance will be on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 17, with mu­sic by Tony Davitt at the new time of 8.30 11.30 p.m.

Re­becca De­lamere will be teach­ing group maths lessons on a weekly ba­sis in the Parish Hall in Round­wood for sec­ondary school stu­dents. Class sizes will be very small and there will be classes at dif­fer­ent lev­els. These lessons pro­vide sup­port for stu­dents who may be strug­gling with maths in school, sup­port for stu­dents who are aim­ing for high grades and also pre­pare stu­dents for their maths ex­ams. Set danc­ing con­tin­ues ev­ery Thurs­day night in Ka­vanagh’s Lounge from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m. with mu­sic this month by the O’Kane fam­ily. Come along and join us for a night of good fun, great ex­er­cise and a very so­cial night out. Also giv­ing jiv­ing lessons start­ing on Thurs­day at 8.30 p.m. be­fore our weekly set danc­ing ses­sion. All are wel­come to these lessons. New­com­ers al­ways wel­come and great way to meet some lo­cals. Cost for night of danc­ing and en­ter­tain­ment is still only €5.
